Welcome to the web site of Mt. Olive Evangelical Lutheran Church .  Mt. Olive is a member congregation of the Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod and was established in 1895.  The founders of our parish desired to have the pure Gospel of Jesus Christ preached in their midst and the Sacraments administered according to our Lord’s institution – not only for their own benefit, but so their children and neighbors could know the grace and love of God in Jesus Christ.

Immediately after its founding, the congregation built its first sanctuary, dedicated to the worship of the Triune God.  The men of Mt. Olive cut the timber themselves, sawed the logs, and put up the building.  In 1932 the original church was torn down and a brick building erected in its place.  This structure served Mt. Olive until its present sanctuary was dedicated to the glory of God in 1968.

Mt. Olive Evangelical Lutheran Church clings to historic Lutheran doctrine and practice.  Our services are liturgical, traditional and centered on Jesus Christ, the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world.  Hymns and liturgies from The Lutheran Hymnal and Lutheran Worship direct us every Sunday to the Triune God’s grace and forgiveness that He freely extends us for Jesus’ sake. Sermons are oriented around a clear proclamation of Law and Gospel, proclaiming our Savior’s gracious work on behalf of sinners, and calling them to repentance and faith.  Holy Communion is celebrated twice a month in the glad confession that in, with and under the bread and wine, our Lord gives us His true Body and Blood for the forgiveness of sins.  Our Bible classes and Sunday School uphold the authority and inspiration of the Scriptures as the inerrant Word of God, and are taught in accordance with the Confessions of the Evangelical Lutheran Church found in The Book of Concord.

Admission to the Sacrament at Mt. Olive is through Confirmation, transfer from another congregation of the Luther Church-Missouri Synod, or, for those who have been previously confirmed in the Lutheran Church, through reaffirmation of faith.  We invite all who desire to know Jesus Christ as He comes to His people through Word and Sacrament to visit us at Mt.
